Guide — a smug grinning troll on your screen, fullscreen
Four scenes, speed and size sliders, “Problem?” captions and scanlines. An original cartoon homage to the 2008 meme, drawn on an HTML5 canvas, nothing to install.Choose Float (one troll), Swarm (nine trolls), Bounce (two fast trolls) or VHS (one troll with a sepia tint and grain), or press 1 to 4. Each scene places fresh trolls at random.
Drag Speed (1 to 10, 5 by default) to change how fast the trolls drift, and Size (1 to 10, 6 by default) to scale them with your screen.
Every troll bounces off the edges of the screen. It winks now and then, and whenever it hits the left or right edge it winks and asks “Problem?” for about a second.
Switch the “Problem?” captions on or off (or press C) and the Scanlines. Reset Defaults or R goes back to Float.
Press Enter Fullscreen, click the screen or press F. Move the mouse for the Exit Fullscreen and Pause buttons; Space pauses, Esc leaves.

Trollface, explained
What is trollface?
Trollface is a grinning, smug face that Carlos Ramirez drew in Microsoft Paint in 2008 for a comic about trolling on 4chan, posted on his DeviantArt account. It spread through 4chan and rage comics and became the internet’s mascot for pranksters and trolls, usually paired with taunts like “Problem?” or “u mad?”. Ramirez later registered the copyright. This screensaver is a playful tribute to that prankster spirit, starring an original cartoon troll instead of the real drawing.
Is this the original trollface drawing?
No. The original trollface is a copyrighted drawing by Carlos Ramirez. The character here is an original cartoon troll drawn in code for this page: a green goblin with pointy ears, a hair tuft, one raised brow and a wide toothy grin. It is not the original artwork and is not affiliated with or endorsed by its creator; it simply channels the same mischievous “Problem?” energy.
How do I run it fullscreen?
Click the screen, press Enter Fullscreen or press F. Move the mouse to reveal the Exit Fullscreen and Pause buttons, which hide again 2.5 seconds after the mouse stops, or press Escape to leave. Where a browser blocks the fullscreen API, the troll fills the browser window instead. The page does not keep the display awake, so set your sleep timer to Never if you leave it running.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. The troll, the captions and the scanlines are drawn live on an HTML5 canvas in your browser, so there is nothing to download or install, and it works in any current browser on desktop, tablet or phone. A web page can’t register as your operating system’s screensaver, so use fullscreen instead.
