FAQ — World Cup Screensaver
What is the World Cup Screensaver?
It is a free browser-based screensaver that turns your screen into a giant waving national flag. Pick the country you support and the screensaver waves that flag fullscreen with confetti in the team's colours. You can also show the flags of the two teams playing side by side, a wall of flags, and an editable scoreboard. It runs entirely in your browser using HTML5 Canvas — nothing to download or install.
How do I choose the team I support?
Use the Your Team dropdown in the sidebar, or click one of the quick nation presets. The whole scene recolours to that country's flag colours and the confetti matches. Your choice is saved in your browser, so it is remembered next time you open the page.
Does it show live World Cup scores?
There is an optional Live scores toggle. Because the screensaver is 100% client-side with no account or server, live in-play scores depend on a free public sports data feed being reachable from your browser. If live data cannot be loaded, the scoreboard falls back to a manual mode where you simply type the two teams, the score and the minute. The scoreboard then displays on the screensaver with both flags.
Which countries are included?
Over 24 footballing nations are built in, including Belgium, Brazil, Argentina, France, England, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy, Croatia, the USA, Mexico, Japan, Morocco and more. Each flag is drawn with its real colours and layout, then animated with a cloth-like wave.
What are Single, Duel and Wall scenes?
Single shows one giant waving flag of your team. Duel shows two waving flags side by side — ideal for the two nations in the current match. Wall fills the screen with a grid of smaller waving flags, like a stadium of supporters. All three include confetti and the optional scoreboard.
How do I run it fullscreen?
Click Enter Fullscreen in the sidebar or press F. The waving flag fills your entire screen. Move the mouse to reveal the exit button, or press Escape to return to the normal view. Press G for a confetti burst when your team scores.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. This World Cup screensaver runs entirely in your browser using HTML5 Canvas. There is nothing to download or install, and the screensaver itself works offline. It works on any modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android.
Is it free?
Yes, completely free. No account, no ads, no watermark. It is one of 158 free browser-based tools at jasperbernaers.com.
