Guide — a double rainbow all the way across the sky, fullscreen
A vivid double rainbow over rolling hills, drifting mist, awe-struck captions and an optional original wind sound. Four scenes, nothing to install.Choose Day, Sunset, Misty or Night, or press 1 to 4. Each scene also sets its own rainbow glow (8 for Sunset, 7 for Day, 6 for Misty and Night).
Drag Rainbow glow from 1 to 10 to make the bows fainter or more vivid. The outer, secondary bow is always about half as bright as the main one.
Toggle the Awe captions (or press C), the Drifting mist and the Scanlines.
Switch on Ambient breeze or press A for a soft, slowly swelling wind sound generated in your browser. It is off by default and is not the video’s audio.
Press Enter Fullscreen, click the scene or press F. Move the mouse for the Exit Fullscreen and Pause buttons; Space pauses, R resets, Esc leaves.

What is the Double Rainbow video?
“Double Rainbow” is a home video filmed in 2010 by Paul “Bear” Vasquez near Yosemite National Park in California. He points his camera at a brilliant double rainbow and is overcome with joy and wonder, laughing, sobbing and asking what it could mean. It went viral that summer after Jimmy Kimmel shared it on Twitter, and it became one of the most beloved videos of its era.
Is this the real video?
No. This is an original animated nature scene drawn on an HTML5 canvas: a double rainbow over hills with drifting mist and five short captions that fade in turn, each for about 3.4 seconds. It uses none of the original footage or audio and is an unaffiliated homage to the moment. As in a real double rainbow, the colours of the fainter outer bow run in the opposite order to the main bow.
Does it have sound?
Optionally. Toggle Ambient breeze on (or press A) for a soft wind sound: filtered noise that slowly swells and fades, generated live with the Web Audio API. It is original ambience, not the video’s audio, it is off until you switch it on, and it keeps playing while the animation is paused.
How do I run it fullscreen?
Click the scene, press Enter Fullscreen or press F. Move the mouse to show the Exit Fullscreen and Pause buttons, which hide again after 2.5 seconds, or press Esc to leave. Where a browser blocks the fullscreen API, the scene fills the browser window instead. The page does not keep the display awake, so set your screen’s sleep timer to Never if it should keep running.
