Prefer learning by watching rather than reading? Then instructional videos are ideal for getting to grips with Microsoft Teams and the other Microsoft 365 apps. You pause whenever you want and simply rewatch a step. Many older videos still show classic Teams, which has been replaced by the new Teams with a different layout, so choose recent videos and check the date.
Official Microsoft videos
- Microsoft Teams video training on support.microsoft.com: short videos per topic, from chat to meetings, often with subtitles in several languages.
- Help in Teams: in Teams select Settings and more (...) > Help > Training.
- Microsoft Learn: free courses and learning paths, also for admins.
- The Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams YouTube channels: announcements and short demos of new features.
Videos per app
Search specifically by app and task, for example "schedule Teams meeting" or "Excel pivot table". Good topics to start with:
- Teams: chat, channels, meetings, screen sharing, breakout rooms.
- Excel: formulas, tables, filters and pivot tables.
- Word and PowerPoint: formatting, co-authoring, recording a presentation.
- Forms: creating surveys and quizzes.
- Copilot: how to use AI in the Microsoft 365 apps.
Tips for choosing good videos
- Check the date: the more recent, the more likely the screens match.
- Pick videos from Microsoft or well-known trainers and Microsoft MVPs.
- Short videos (2 to 5 minutes) per task work better than long recordings.
- In your organization, use a fixed place, such as a Teams channel or SharePoint page, with the videos you recommend to colleagues.
