The 3-minute typing test used in schools and assessments
Three minutes is a common length for keyboarding classes, timed writings and employment screening. It is long enough that you cannot sprint through it, so it measures the speed you can actually keep up — while still being short enough to take several times.
This page starts with real paragraphs, the format most timed writings use. Your score is a net WPM: words with mistakes do not count, which is how many assessments score a test too.
What a 3-minute test result means
