Click the mic icon once to start recording — the icon pulses red while it's listening. Click it again to stop. Drum Pad Looper trims leading silence automatically and caps the sample to a few seconds, so a hit lands tightly on the beat instead of with a delay.

Yes. Once a pad has a custom sample, a small ↺ reset icon appears next to it — click it to remove the sample and restore the built-in synthesized voice.

Recording a sample uses your device's microphone through the browser's standard permission prompt. If you decline or your browser blocks it, the record button simply won't capture audio — uploading a file from the folder icon works regardless.

Press ● REC and start playing pads. Whatever you play before you press ■ STOP becomes your loop, and its length is exactly how long you played — there's no BPM or bar count to set first. The loop then repeats immediately and continuously.

Once a loop is playing, press ● REC again to arm a new layer. Play along with the loop — your hits are recorded relative to the loop's position, so they land in the same spot on every repeat. Press ■ STOP when you're done. You can keep recording across several repeats of the loop before stopping; every hit from every pass gets folded into that one layer.

Yes. Every layer in the list has its own mute, solo, volume slider and delete button, so you can shape the arrangement after the fact — mute the hats to hear just the kick and snare, or solo one layer to check what's on it.

It removes the most recently recorded layer — useful the moment a take doesn't come out right, without having to find and delete it manually from the layer list.

It removes every layer and resets the loop entirely, so the next take you record sets a brand-new loop length. Your custom pad samples are not affected — Clear All resets the performance, not the kit.

No — this is a deliberately free-form looper, closer to a hardware loop pedal than a step sequencer. Every hit plays exactly when you played it. If you want a perfectly quantized step-programmed beat instead, try Drum Loop Studio, the grid-based drum machine.

Yes. The kit bar under the LCD switches all 9 pads between four synthesized sound sets: Acoustic (the default, natural-feeling kit), a deep 808, a punchier metallic 909, and a bit-crushed Lo-Fi kit. Switching kits never touches your loop or layers — only the sound changes, exactly like Drum Loop Studio's kit switcher.

Nothing — a pad with a custom recorded or uploaded sample always plays that sample, regardless of which kit is selected. The kit only affects pads still using the built-in synthesized sound.

Yes. Once you've built a loop you like, click 💾 Save template and give it a name — it's added to the "My templates" section of the same panel so you can reload it later in the same session. Custom templates aren't saved once you close or refresh the page.

It's as low as the Web Audio API and your device allow — typically a few milliseconds, tight enough to play along with a loop. The very first sound you trigger on the page may have a brief delay while your browser starts the audio engine; every hit after that is instant.

Yes. Pads respond to touch, and the layout adapts to a narrower screen. Recording your own sample from the microphone also works on most mobile browsers, subject to the same permission prompt as desktop.

Yes. Export loop renders the full mixed loop — every unmuted layer — as a WAV file. Each layer also has its own export button so you can pull it out as a separate stem, for example to import into a DAW.

No. Sound synthesis, sample recording, loop playback and WAV rendering all happen locally in your browser tab using the Web Audio API. Nothing is uploaded — there is no server involved at any point.

No. Everything lives only in the browser tab's memory, just like a hardware loop pedal with no save slot — closing or refreshing the page clears your layers and any recorded samples. Export regularly if you want to keep what you've made.
