The controls
Turn pages in steps of 90°. Click twice to turn a page upside down the right way up. The thumbnail shows the result before you save.

Rotation is saved as a setting on the page, the same way a PDF reader stores it. Text, images and quality are untouched.

Rotate PDF pages online, without uploading the file
Rotate PDF shows every page of a PDF as a thumbnail so you can fix the document by eye: turn sideways or upside-down pages, drag pages into a new order and delete the ones you do not need. Then save it as a new PDF. It is free, with no watermark, no account and no page limit, and the file never leaves your device.
How to rotate a PDF and save it
Open the PDF and wait for the thumbnails. To fix one page, click ↻ (clockwise) or ↺ (anticlockwise) under it until it is upright; an upside-down page needs two clicks. If the whole document came out sideways, use Rotate all right or Rotate all left once. Press Save organized PDF and download the result. The rotation is permanent in the new file, so it opens the right way up in every reader, on every device, and prints correctly.
Rotating in a PDF reader is not the same
The rotate button in Adobe Reader, Preview or a browser's PDF viewer usually only turns the view. Close the file, send it to someone, and the page is sideways again. Saving the rotation into the file, as this tool does, fixes it for everybody.
Why rotation here is lossless
Each PDF page has a rotation setting of 0, 90, 180 or 270 degrees. This tool changes that setting and copies the page into the new file, rather than redrawing it. Text stays selectable and searchable, images keep their resolution, and the file stays about the same size. If a page was already rotated in the original, your turn is added to it, so the thumbnails always show what you will get.
Reorder pages in a PDF
Drag a thumbnail and drop it on the place where the page should go; the numbers below the thumbnails show the new order. This is how to put an appendix back at the end, move a signature page after the text, or put a duplex scan in order when the back sides came out in a separate pass. Drag and drop is easiest with a mouse or trackpad; on a phone it depends on the browser.
Delete pages from a PDF
Click 🗑 under a page to take it out. Use it for blank back sides from a double-sided scan, a duplicate page, a cover sheet you do not want to send, or pages with information the recipient should not see. Deleting a page removes the whole page from the saved file. To hide part of a page instead, such as an account number, use the PDF redactor.
Common fixes
- A scan that came out sideways: Rotate all, once, in the right direction.
- One landscape table in a portrait report: rotate just that page so it reads normally on screen.
- A stack fed upside down into the scanner: rotate the affected pages twice.
- Blank pages after a duplex scan: delete them one by one.
- Pages in the wrong order: drag them back into sequence.
Related jobs
To take a few pages out as a separate file instead of deleting the rest, use Split PDF. To combine the fixed document with another one, use Merge PDF. If the file is too big to send afterwards, Compress PDF will shrink a scan.
Troubleshooting and privacy
"Cannot read PDF" usually means the file is encrypted, which includes PDFs that open without a password but block editing. Save or "print to PDF" an unprotected copy and open that. Long documents take a moment to draw all thumbnails. Everything happens inside your browser tab with pdf-lib and PDF.js, so the document is never uploaded; you can check by switching off Wi-Fi after the page has loaded.
