FAQ
What is Zenroom?
Zenroom is a free, in-browser ambient sound player built for wellness practitioners, yoga instructors, therapists, and event hosts. All sounds are generated procedurally in your browser using the Web Audio API — no downloads, no ads, no tracking.
How do I use it for a wellness event or class?
Tap any scene card to start playing, then click Zen Mode (⛶). The screen will fill with the animated visual — perfect to project on a wall or screen during yoga, meditation sessions, or sound baths. Press ESC or click Exit to leave zen mode.
What does the Breathing Guide do?
It overlays a pulsing circle that guides the 4-7-8 breathing technique: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, exhale for 8 seconds. This is a clinically recognised technique for activating the parasympathetic nervous system and reducing anxiety. It also works in Zen Mode.
How does the timer work?
Select a session duration from the dropdown before or after selecting a scene. The timer counts down and audio gently fades out when time is up. The remaining time is shown in the status bar and in Zen Mode.
Are the sounds real recordings?
No — all sounds are procedurally synthesised using the Web Audio API. This means they loop seamlessly without noticeable repetition and work offline once the page has loaded. The synthesis models pink/brown noise layers, filtered frequencies, and resonant oscillators tuned to each scene.
Why does the sound cut out on iOS?
iOS requires a user interaction before audio can start. Simply tap any scene card — the audio will begin immediately. Make sure your device is not on silent mode.
