Add your friends' names to the group, then create expenses with descriptions, amounts, and who paid. Select how to split each expense — equally, by percentage, exact amounts, or weighted shares — and choose which members are involved. The tool automatically calculates who owes whom and minimizes the number of transactions needed to settle up. No account, no download, no ads.
The tool calculates each person's net balance (total paid minus total share). It then uses a greedy algorithm to minimize the number of settlement transactions: it matches the largest creditor with the largest debtor, settles the smaller of the two amounts, and repeats until all balances are zero. This produces the fewest possible transactions to settle all debts.
Yes. Each expense supports four split methods: equal split among selected members, exact amounts per person, percentage-based splits (must total 100%), or weighted shares (e.g., someone with 2 shares pays twice as much as someone with 1 share). You can also exclude certain members from specific expenses.
Absolutely. You can create separate groups or trips, categorize expenses (food, transport, accommodation, activities, shopping), use multiple currencies with automatic conversion, and track everything in one place. At the end of the trip, export the full report as PDF or CSV and share a link with everyone in the group.
Yes. Each expense can be in a different currency. Set your base settlement currency and the tool converts everything using built-in exchange rates. You can also manually adjust any exchange rate from the Settlement tab to match the exact rate you got.
Yes. Unlike Splitwise, Tricount, or Settle Up, this tool requires no account, no app download, and has no ads or premium features locked behind a paywall. Everything runs locally in your browser with all data stored in localStorage. It's the fastest way to split bills — just open the page and start adding expenses.
Yes. Click the Share Link button to generate a URL that encodes all your expense data. Send this link to your friends via text, email, or chat — they can view the full breakdown, settlements, and statistics in their own browser without needing an account.
When adding an expense, check the "Add tip & tax" option. Enter the tip percentage and tax percentage — they are calculated on the base amount and added to the total before splitting. This ensures everyone pays their fair share of tip and tax proportionally based on their split.
Yes. Use the group selector at the top to create and switch between multiple groups. Each group has its own set of members, expenses, and settlements. All groups are saved independently in your browser's local storage.
Yes. After the first visit, the app is cached by the service worker and works completely offline. All calculations happen in your browser. The only feature that requires internet is loading the page for the first time and PDF export (which loads a small library).
The tool uses a greedy settlement algorithm. After calculating each person's net balance (total paid minus total owed), it sorts all creditors (positive balance) and debtors (negative balance). It then matches the person who is owed the most with the person who owes the most, settling the smaller amount. This process repeats until all balances are zero, producing the minimum number of transactions needed.
Yes. Click Export PDF for a full report including all expenses, settlements, per-person breakdowns, and statistics. Click Export CSV to get a spreadsheet-compatible file of all expenses. You can also copy the settlement summary to your clipboard with one click.
